Fountain Installations
- Fountain Installations is a fictional art event set in Näfels, Switzerland. The event invites multiple installation artists, tile artists and sculptors to reimagine the town’s ubiquitous drinkable fountains. Local residents, visitors and art enthusiasts can follow a carefully designed route to view the artworks and interact with the fountain installations, which blend historical heritage with contemporary creativity. Through touching, drinking and washing, the visitors will have a chance to deeply appreciate the unique charm of the Alpine spring waters.
- The poster was produced using letterpress printing on special metallic paper and printed in three passes. Here, the ancient letterpress technique meets experimental design, with “fountain” as the central concept. The poster contains no image, in which case the theme and event details are conveyed solely through typographic layout. It was printed with hand-cut linoleum blocks and Ludlow casting metal type. The subtle “imperfections” left by the carving process give the work a distinctive warmth and texture.
