Soundwave
- ‘Soundwave’ is an experimental 3D typeface inspired by my research of the Latin alphabet. I found the audio aspect of letters particularly fascinating, as each letter's pronunciation is unique. This led me to explore the idea of combining a letter's form with its sound. To achieve this, I added an extra dimension and created a 3D typeface visually evoking sound.
- The letters were crafted from green-painted toothpicks, hand-placed on foam wrapped in black paper. The colours were informed by waveforms in Adobe Audition, and the letterforms are based on Helvetica, the most commonly used typeface.
